Each of these artists have impacted me—Paul Nash for his sureal British landscapes, Nicholas Nixon for his portrayals of ravages of AIDS and age, and Emil Nolde who always was for me the old man/outsider of German Expressionism.

Jeanette Ingberman was co-founder, with Papo Colo, of the pioneering nonprofit gallery Exit Art, a gallery that has supported innovative art and artists for the last thirty years and has profoundly influenced contemporary art practice.

Asger Jorn, Danish, was a crucial member of the art movement known as CoBrA.
